A colorful glimpse behind the method, motivation, and medium, which drives three young Canadian women artists to paint.

Women & Paint is a short documentary profiling three Canadian women painters living in Vancouver, BC. Written, and shot by three female student filmmakers over two days, the objective of finding three mid-level, local women artists, who's work embodies common themes of identity and place proves successful. As does staying within the theme of threes; in which, only three specific profile questions are asked, as to grab snip-its of each woman's artistic journey--all under five minutes.

Inspired by Vancouver's Hot Art Wet City gallery and blog, the three filmmakers set out to provide the viewer with a colorful glimpse of each artist's chosen medium; including their creative process, motivations, and artistic inspirations surrounding identity and place. Women & Paint also features new and completed art work from each artist.

Knight Owl is a "real-life superhero" based in Portland, OR. A trained EMT, he chooses to dress as a superhero and patrol Portland at night to help the homeless and keep the streets safe. Knight Owl is one of several heroes we follow in the full-length feature "Citizen Heroes". Other heroes include Vancouver B.C.'s Thanatos and Seattle's Phoenix Jones.
